Advanced Workshop
This course is designed for participants who already have some experience working on the pottery wheel and are ready to deepen their skills.
Whether you've taken an introductory class or spent some time practicing independently, this two-day workshop offers the perfect opportunity to refine your technique in a focused, supportive setting.
On Day 1, the emphasis is on throwing. After a short recap of key techniques and an opportunity to ask questions, you'll have plenty of time at the wheel to focus on form, consistency and control. The goal is to create 3–4 pieces, with guidance available to help you push your skills further – whether that means experimenting with larger forms, exploring new shapes or working more precisely.
On Day 2, you'll return to your pieces and focus on trimming. With more time and guidance, you'll be able to refine your technique, improve precision and develop a better feel for timing and consistency. This session is all about practicing and gaining confidence – whether you're perfecting foot rings, adjusting shapes or experimenting with decorative elements.
On Day 3, once your pieces have been bisque-fired (3-4 weeks after day 2), you’ll learn how to glaze them yourself. You’ll be introduced to a selection of glazes and techniques, and I’ll guide you through the process so you can choose colors and finishes that complement your work. This is your chance to give your pieces a personal touch and bring them to life with color and surface texture.
This course offers a balance between technical development and creative exploration – ideal for anyone looking to grow their confidence on the wheel.
