At The Clay Gang, our handbuilding classes are all about exploring pottery without the wheel. This ancient and intuitive technique connects you directly with the material — no spinning required.

In these classes, you’ll learn the foundations of handbuilding, including:

• Pinching – shaping simple forms using just your fingers
• Slab building – using flat sheets of clay to construct functional or sculptural pieces
• Plus: techniques for joining, smoothing, decorating, and finishing your work

Whether you're a total beginner or looking to deepen your creative practice, these sessions are designed to be relaxed, inspiring and hands-on. You'll create your own functional or artistic pieces — from cups, bowls and plates to vases — guided step-by-step in a supportive studio setting.

Expect creativity, clay-covered hands and a wonderful atmosphere.

No experience needed — just curiosity

All tools and materials are provided

Your pieces will be glazed and fired, ready for pickup a few weeks later

Come solo or bring a friend — it’s a great way to unwind and connect
